There are two ways to tackle thinking up a new idea. You can either just pick something like a hobby and then write a content based site on that or you can think about which products you would like to promote and go from there.

Lets say you have a hobby that is computing. Firstly there are billions of web pages about the general subject of computing and you will have to compete with these for visitors at some point.

You need to narrow down the subject and find your niche area within. This is not the last time you will hear me mention the word niche. The Internet is extremely competitve and if you want visitors without spending huge amounts on marketing you will need to go niche.

So lets start boucing some ideas around for niche web sites. I will try and choose a variety of subjects. The best ideas sit within the hot zone 'very niche' with niche and too niche being next best. Only attempt the blue categories if you have a big marketing budget.
