I am going to start a section soon on Working Nomad which will be aimed at looking at other ways of working from anywhere. I have a few ideas already but would appreciate any comments and ideas relating to this.
I realise that not everyone who would like to work and be overseas has the inclination to run web sites.
So if you are working away from your home country, working and travelling or living overseas on an income then leave a message here or email me and we can get some ideas out there.

Hello from the Petronas Twin Towers here in KL. I am back in my favourite China Town hotel and hanging out at KLCC complex where I am back on free wifi access. I am so easily pleased these days!
I am probably going to be here all week as there is lots of work I need to catch up on. Although I can do a lot of stuff offline it is still easier when I am online. The problem with having web access all the time is that it is easy to get distracted!
I made one of my highest single commissions yesterday (almost £100) which meant that added to everything else it was a record day. I am now thinking of posting earnings reports every two weeks now as they seem to be some of my most popular postings. It will also help me keep focused.
I have been hanging out with people for what seems like ages which has been really nice but it is good to be back on my own again for now. I am probably heading to the Perhenthian islands to meet some people next week but until then it’s just me and my laptop.

I am sitting in one of the maddest thunder storms in Bangkok as I write this and looking forward to flying tomorrow to KL and getting back down to some serious work.
I have not done much work this week as I have been seeing off various friends and doing a bit of partying here. KL is ideal as a work getaway because of the free Wifi, calm surroundings and lack of any real backpacker nightlife!
Yesterday I unexpectedly got invited to have cocktails on the roof of the Banyan Tree skyscraper (the highest open air bar in the World). It was all very nice (and expensive) but was also particularly embarrassing as I turned up in my normal casual traveller attire having not been told about the very strict dress code.
The staff were very charming but I broke all their dress rules - no backpacks, no sandals and no shorts.
There cannot be many elite bar / restaurants in the world that will provide you with clothing to allow you entry rather than simply turn you away. Unfortunately my new trousers were about 10 sizes too big and I had to wear the most ridiculous sneakers ever!
It was all very amusing and I had my picture taken by my fiend’s friend which will hopefully be emailed to me at some point and uploaded for your enjoyment.

Not much to report at the moment on the travel or websites front. I am back in this crazy city to meet up with a couple of people who I travelled with before so I am just hanging out with them at the moment.
It is very hot in Bangkok as April appears to be their hottest month. The Thai New Year is next week and for three days people go mad throwing water at each other.
This is becoming more sophisticated now with the use of water machine guns and ice cubes. I get the impression the Bangkok Thais take great pleasure in soaking the farang.
I will be around for maybe one day of this but then I plan to escape, probably to Malaysia for a working week in KL.
I had one of the worst days yesterday for earnings since I have been away but I have learnt not to be too alarmed with this anymore. Like all things there are peaks and troughs and good days and bad days.
What you need to focus on is how well you are doing over a month rather than a day. Funnily enough I find bad days quite motivating now!

OK I know I said that March was not looking like a record month. Well it was in the end! The first two weeks saw me well down due to a collapse in visitors to a couple of my big earners.
For some reason unknown to me things went crazy in the last week with record visitor numbers across many of my sites. I have tried to investigate why this happened and I have found that the Yahoo search engine made some big changes to its index which may account for the spike.
So now for the figures for March. I earned a little over £1550 or $2800 from the web in this month. There were three more days in March than Feb so it would have been pretty even over all.
Now my spending and earnings since I left home last October. I am currently £700 better off than I was when I left England which I am pretty pleased about. I have spent a lot of money though for a backpacker. I worked out that I’ll be on my 14 flight on Saturday!
My first goal was to go home better off than when I left but now it is to go home with what I consider a UK living wage. I am starting to believe I can achieve this in a month or so and then I want to earn more than I did working in the corporate jungle.
I am realising now that if I set my targets higher I feel far more motivated. Motivation was an issue when I was striving for $20 a day and even recently I have had motivational issues. I am now thinking big and it is helping me to the next level.
Thinking big is something I remember reading on Webmasterworld a while ago and it is one of the best tips out there.
