I thought about this idea about a year ago and it came back to me while reading the newspaper today. I wonder if it is possible to set up a course on working and the Internet?
I guess there are a number of questions involed.
How to to go about approaching a college / night school about including a WN course as part of their adult learning program?
How to do this indepentantly? How expensive would it be hire somewhere to conduct the classes?
Would anyone actually be interested?
The course as I envisage it would involve everything from basic web design to online marketing.
As far as I am aware the only courses similar to this are web design courses. There does n’t seem to be much in the way of earning from the web.
I would have certainly been interested in this a few years ago but I am wondering whether it would be applicable now particularly as a lot of info is available on the web.
Any thoughts, both positive and negative are welcome!

Hey Webby!
Have you thought about doing this during school holidays? Maybe summer schools. For older kids of course. I reckon a lot of them would be interested in that especially the making money side of it.
I remember as a kid doing lots of stuff in the school holidays. Maybe you could be responsible for the next generation of “webtrepreneurs”!
Also that way you have some work to do in the lovely summer months in the UK and then you can escape for the rest of the year.

In the US there are a couple of organizations that do simple one- or two-night classes, mainly for professional people who are curious about something, and some just for fun, like “How to Marry Rich” and “Belly Dancing for Beginners”. They’re called Learning Annex and Open University. I think they have something similar in England.
I looked into doing a course for them. You design the course, and get paid per attendee. A lot of it is done for publicity, or to get people to sign up for longer term courses. If you aren’t doing that, you need to have course handouts or something to sell, or you get very little.
I wish now I’d done it.
Anyway, I’d just contact the continuing education department of whatever school you are interested in.
I think the idea of doing something for kids is good. Parents are always looking for summer activities.

I think it’s a great idea. I know there is a lot of info on the web but finding it can be time consuming and it can take a bit of sorting the good stuff from the trash.
Having it presented in a course and being able to bounce ideas off other people and ask questions would be a real bonus.

I think this is a great idea if your prepared to stay put & teach or you can find teachers In the US you could get this rollin easily

I think there would be plenty of interest in this. The majority of people I know, or have talked with about this subject, all say they would love to be able to work and travel at the same time.

i’m sure there’d be plenty of interest.
i’m intrigued by the belly dancing for beginners though - i’ve certainly got the belly for an intermediate or maybe even advanced level.

What I would really be interested in is being taken through the ebook step by step. Beginning by either finding a site idea or niching down an existing idea.
And then step by step from creating the website and getting it online, getting people to visit, maintaining it and eventually earning money from it.
This could be great fun to learn in a group but could also be implemented as online course.
